One of the things we did in Pre-Algebra was the gummy bear project. We had to guess how many tiny and medium bears would be the same weight as 1 large bear. At the end we found out it would cost about $35 dollars to buy a giant bear! I like this because it was fun and we able eat a couple gummy bears when we were all done. We worked in groups to help each other.

Integer War
In Pre-Algebra we played Integer War. Integer War is a card game where the reds are negative and the blacks are positive. The face cards are either addition or subtraction based on the color. It is a one-on-one game. One person shuffles and deals the cards. The person with the highest number wins. I liked this game because I won a lot. |
Tessellations
In Pre-Algebra we had to do tessellations. A tessellation is where you take a shape or image and repeat it until the entire page is colored. My tessellation was a bunch of birds. One person made a bunch of kings as their tessellation. I liked making the tessellations because it was a creative outlet in an educational way. |
